The political agreement for the European Nabucco gas pipeline project is going to be signed Wednesday in Turkey.
The announcement was made Tuesday by Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Boriosv, who said the move will put the project on the highest political level of the agenda.
Borisov spoke at the opening of the conference titled "New Perspectives in the Trade and Economic Relations between the US and Bulgaria."
It was further announced that Borisov and his Deputy and Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, will open Thursday the first Bulgarian investment in Romania.
Borisov pointed out that in the last two years of severe financial and economic crisis, Bulgaria managed to keep the lowest taxes in the EU while now the so-called Financial Stability Pact, prepared by Djankov, will become a warrant for all future investments.
"We want to prevent the arrival of populists, who will spend the money in one year. We have neighbors; we can see every day on the news what is happening on the streets there. We cannot remain relaxed over this, but the difference is strong fiscal policy and good investment climate," the PM stressed.
Djankov presented before the forum the Financial Stability Pact. He noted he had received positive assessments on the Pact by American academic circles, pointing out the US have a lot to offer to Bulgaria as Bulgaria has a lot to offer to the US in terms of investment climate.
The Minister of Environment and Waters, Nona Karadzhova, noted the clear rules, transparency and alleviated regimes as an advantage for those wishing to invest in Bulgaria.
The Forum is organized by the American Chamber of Commerce and the American Embassy in Sofia.
