French club Paris Saint-Germain are set to be the first to bid for Manchester United's Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The French club is preparing a GBP 12 M offer for the prolific forward, whose future at Old Trafford has been under doubt recently, according to the Daily Mail.
Berbatov was the Premier League's joint top scorer last season, but the rise to prominence of Javier Hernandez saw him knocked down the Red Devils' pecking order.
According to media reports, Manchester United are willing to let the Bulgarian go, should they receive a GBP 15 M bid. In 2008, the legendary club signed him from Tottenham in a record over GBP 30 M transfer deal.
Berbatov is moving into the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and the club seem keen to cash in on him now rather than risk losing him for nothing next Summer.
Besides PSG, Newcastle, German squad Borusia Dortmund, Juventus, Roma, Bayern Munich and his former club Tottenham are said to be ready to offer the 30-year-old an escape route from his current tough situation in the team, even though he has stated on multiple occasion he wants to end his career at Old Trafford.
