Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry has issued a warning because of the civil unrest in Yemen urging any Bulgarian citizens immediately to leave the Arab country.

In a special statement made Friday night, Velesa Cherneva, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson expressed Bulgaria's concern with the situation in Yemen.

"We are worried because the chaos and anarchy are growing with all respective negative consequences. We call for the immediate termination of violence and the establishment of political dialogue," Cherneva declared.

"We are especially disappointed that in spite of the intensive mediation efforts on part of the Arab Gulf states, Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh has refused the sign the highly important agreement for a peaceful transition, and has thus caused a severe armed confrontation in the country," she said.

Thousands of tribesmen from warring clans threatened on Friday to invade Yemen's capital Sanaa, and to intervene against the President in the two-week-long clashes between the two major clans in Sanaa – the clan of President Saleh and the Al Ahmar clan.

The new development came after on Friday Saleh's loyalist forces started shelling positions of Al Ahmar in Sanaa, while the special government forces were also employed against the Al Ahmar clan.
