Bulgaria to Install Antenna for Real-Time Drone Monitoring After Airport Incident

A controller center worth EUR 50 M opened at Sofia Airport. It will control the Bulgarian air traffic. The money is lent under the 1994 agreement with the European Investment Bank.
According to officials from the Ministry of Transport the controller's activities will begin in 2004 because by that time the equipment will be deployed and tested. It will cost another EUR 30 M and will be provided by the Italian firm Marconi.
