Controversial Bulgarian businessman and former DANS employee, Aleksei Petrov, says he would not be surprised of emerging proof Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, is connected with organized crime.

The former employee of the State Agency for National Security, DANS, spoke Sunday in the southern city of Blagoevgrad, saying both Borisov, and his Deputy, Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, might have ties with the high-profile kidnappings in the country.

Petrov was in Blagoevgrad on the invitation of local businessmen, in his capacity of Chair of the Union for Business Initiative.

Just days ago, two defendants in the abduction case, codenamed "The Impudent," told the TV channel bTV, former and current members of the special task team, known as "Berets," connected with Borisov and Tsvetanov, had been the actual perpetrators of the kidnappings. The defendants further complained they have been pressured to implicate Aleksei Petrov.

"The public will soon see Borisov's real face," the former DANS employee stated.

Petrov also commented on the economy, saying the high interest rates on loans and the skyrocketing fuel prices are hurting Bulgaria's competitiveness.

A while ago, the ex most famous Bulgarian prisoner aka "The Octopus," declared the reason for his arrest and trial was his stand against the bank lobby, which favors high interest rates. He even proposed the State buys shares in private banks, dealing with State funds, in order to control interest rates.

Petrov reiterated he would run for president only if Borisov is his adversary in the race, and greeted everyone celebrating their name day Sunday, including his utmost enemy, Interior Minister Tsvetanov.

The former DANS agent was arrested on February 10, 2010, in a much advertised special police operation codenamed "Octopus." He was released on house arrest in October, 2010 and on own recognizance in mid-February.
