Bulgaria's top male tennis player, Grigor Dimitrov, was eliminated in the second round of the Houston clay court tournament after losing 6:7 (4), 3:6 to Russian Taymuraz Gabashvili.
Dimitrov, who smashed German veteran and former world No. 5 Reiner Schuettler 6:0, 6:2 in the first round, still has the record high ranking for a Bulgarian male -70th. His opponent is currently ranked 76th. The young Bulgarian prospect leaves the Houston tournament with 20 ATP ranking points.
In one week time Dimitrov will play in the main draw of the ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona, Spain in the company of tennis players like Nadal, Murray, Soderling, Monfis, Davydenko, Ferer, Berdych, and hopes Dolgopolov, Raonic, Nishikori.
