Jordan's Minister of Industry and Trade Hani El-Mulki has invited Bulgarian businesses to help the reconstruction of the Iraqi economy together with Jordanian companies.

El-Mulki met with Bulgaria's Deputy Minister of Economy Evgeni Angelov during a visit of a Bulgarian delegation in Amman. Angelov invited Jordan's Minister of Industry and Trade to visit Bulgaria.

According to him and El-Mulki, there are good conditions for expanded presence of Bulgarian engineering companies in Jordan's infrastructure, energy, and transport projects; at the same time, the bilateral economic exchange should focus on pharmaceuticals, medical services, and energy.

Deputy Minister Angelov, together with representatives of Bulgaria's state yogurt company LB Bulgaricum, met with local distributors of Bulgarian cheese and milk products. According to Bulgaria's Economy Ministry, Bulgarian dairy products are popular in Jordan and its neighboring countries but have lost their markets over the past years.

In Amman, Angelov also met with Jordan's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Haifa Abou Gazale, who outlined the crucial importance of tourism for Jordan's economy. His team has expressed a desire to take part in the work of the joint Bulgarian-Jordanian Commission for economic cooperation with projects for stimulating the tourism exchange with Bulgaria.

Bulgaria's Deputy Economy Minister presented Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Khaled Tukan with the Bulgarian draft of a memorandum for bilateral economic cooperation, which is to be signed at the meeting of the joint economic commission in the fall of 2011. Angelov has expressed Bulgaria's readiness to share its experience on the operation of nuclear power plants as Jordan is about to construct its first NPP.

Meanwhile, Bulgaria’s Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naydenov promised to Jordan Bulgarian help for the development of its hunting tourism after visiting Barkash and Dibin – two reserves of Jordan’s Royal Hunting Club.

Bulgaria will provide Jordan by supplying 100 fallow deer as well as experts to help the Middle Eastern country to develop its hunting tourism.
