A father and his son are under arrest for 72 hours for the murder of a gymnastics coach in the central Bulgarian city of Gaborovo.
The news was reported Wednesday by the Gabrovo police, saying the two are being held for Lilyan Alexandrov's murder late Monday evening.
The men, 45 and 16, have been involved in sports activities in Gabrovo. Immediately after the tragedy, Alexandrov's colleagues spoke about hostility between the deceased coach's club and another gymnastics club, and death threats received by Alexandrov.
57-year-old Lilyan Alexandrov was shot several times in front of his home on his way back from a meeting.
Alexandrov was Gabrovo coach of the year in 2009.
Police sources expressed frustration at what they saw an increased murder rate in a comparatively calm town as Gabrovo.
