The first seven charges against controversial Bulgarian businessman and former employee of the State Agency for National Security, DANS, Aleksei Petrov, are entering the court next week.
The information was reported by Sofia City Prosecutor, Nikolay Kokinov.
The charges are from the so-called "Small Octopus" case which was named as such after it was separated form the larger "Octopus" case involving more charges – money laundering, tax crimes, prostitution and others, for which the investigation continues.
In the "Small Octopus" case, Petrov, along with Anton Petrov aka The Hamster and Marcello Dzhotolov, are charged with racket and blackmail.
The seven counts against Petrov are: being the ringleader of an organized crime group, 3 counts of blackmail, death threat, being an accomplice and leaking classified information.

The former DANS agent was arrested on February 10, 2010, in a much advertised special police operation codenamed "Octopus." He was released on house arrest in October, 2010 and on own recognizance in mid-February.
