Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov has commended the efforts of Iraq's government to stabilize the country politically and economically.
Mladenov met with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad on Monday.
"I want to pay my respects to the victims of terrorism and to state clearly that the efforts of the Iraqi government are bearing fruit," Mladenov told al-Maliki, according to the Foreign Ministry press service.
Bulgaria's top diplomat has further stated that Iraqi is advancing confidently on the road to democracy, and Bulgaria is ready to provide its expertise for reforms in the Arab country.
