Rumen Petkov, Bulgaria's controversial ex-Interior Minister has said he will send letters to the US Senate and Congress bashing US Ambassador to Bulgaria James Warlick.
In the letters, Petkov, who is currently an MP from the leftist Bulgarian Socialist Party, will 'sketch some typical tendencies in US Ambassador James Warlick's behavior'.
Petkov's war against Warlick was triggered at the end of 2010, when Petkov's US visa was annulled due to information that he has been involved in of criminal activity.
At the end of November, Warlick stated that Petkov has been informed on the reasons behind the annulment, braking the news that there is an ongoing criminal investigation against him. Subsequently, however, Petkov called Warlick a liar and stated he had no idea of a criminal investigation against him whatsoever.
Petrov has since then attacked Warlick on numerous occasions, saying the Ambassador supports ' public figures who fail to declare their income,' ( referring the current Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov who was subject to a tax probe over the purchase of several apartments in upscale Sofia neighborhoods in the last years.) and insinuating he has been smoking cannabis.
