Bulgaria: Rebels Fight Back Pro-Gaddafi Forces in Zawiyah

Libyan opposition fighters are reported to have driven back forces loyal to embattled dictator Muammar Gaddafi in the city of Zawiyah.

The pro-Gaddafi forces were reported to have entered Zawiya earlier on Saturday after overcoming some rebel positions with heavy shelling and machine gun fire, BBC has informed. The loyalist troops have withdrawn from Zawiyah, which is situated some 50 kilometers from Tripoli.

Rebels have also claimed control of the Ras Lanuf oil port, about 650 kilometers to the east of  the capital Tripoli on the Gulf of Sidra.
