Nationwide Blackout in Venezuela

Seif al-Islam Gaddafi has denied various reports that his father Muammar Gaddafi has fled to Venezuela because of the rising tide of civil unrest in Libya.
Social networks buzz and some mainstream international media reported Monday that the Libyan dictator was on his way to Venezuela where he would be shielded by the regime of Hugo Chavez.
While Seif al-Islam Gaddafi appeared on state TV declaring his father was in charge of country, had the backing of the army, and will "fight to the last bullet," UK Foreign Secretary William Hague has been quoted as saying he had some information – other than media publications and social media buzz – that Muammar Gaddafi has left Libya for Venezuela.
In his TV address, Seif al-Islam Gaddafi warned that after nearly a week of a deepening crisis in Libya, the country risks a civil war that would destroy the country's oil wealth.
"We are not Tunisia and Egypt. Muammar Gaddafi, our leader, is leading the battle in Tripoli, and we are with him. The armed forces are with him. Tens of thousands are heading here to be with him. We will fight until the last man, the last woman, the last bullet," the dictator's son declared.
Venezuela appears a logical place of refuge for the Libyan dictator should he flee. In March 2009, the Libyan government honored Hugo Chavez, the President of Venezuela, by naming a stadium after him.
