Yemeni police have manage to disperse the protest in capital Sanaa calling for the resignation of President Ali Abdullah Saleh Sunday.
At least 2000 marched Sunday from Sanaa University to Al-Sabineh Square, where the presidential palace is located.
Police have also used force to disperse a similar protest in the southern city of Taiz.
Protests in Yemen have been encouraged by the Friday resignation of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak following large-scale street protests by citizens.
Saturday there were violent clashes between anti- and pro-Saleh activists in Sana'a streets.
"You are the third, Oh Ali," read the banners of the anti-Saleh Yemeni protesters referring to the fates of Tunisia's Ben Ali and Egypt's Mubarak.
Ali Abdulah Saleh has been Yemen's president ever since 1978.
