Official: End of the Private Lotteries in Bulgaria
The State Gazette has promulgated today amendments to Bulgaria's Gambling Act that put an end to private lotteries, the Bulgarian News Agency BTA reports, quoted by BNR.
The jackpot in Bulgaria's state lottery "Toto" is expected to reach the record-high BGN 7 M in the Thursday drawing.
On Sunday, the jackpot in the Toto 2 6/49 game survived after failing to find winners 24 draws in a row.
The Toto craze in Bulgaria continues as a total of 1 500 370 tickets worth BGN 4 M were bought for the Sunday drawing. By Thursday evening, the jackpot is expected to reach BGN 7 M, which would be a number one record in the history of Toto.
Last summer the person, who hit a record-high jackpot, did not come to receive the money.
The sum of BGN 6 575 225, 40 was supposed to be received by a person from the Bulgarian city of Lovech, in a 45-day period.
The Bulgarian State Lottery decided that the money should be distributed in half to them and to the Bulgarian Sports Ministry.
The State Lottery, however, has proposed to the Council of Ministers and the State Commission on Gambling that its half should be brought back to the game, adding BGN 1 M every time the jackpot falls for three consecutive times.
