Ten Bulgarian sailors on the Med Salvador ship have been blocked at the Egyptian Alexandria port due to a port workers' strike.
The Bulgarians have enough food and water resources at their disposal, according to Captain Tsvetan Gadev, a representative of the Italian owner of the ship, which sails under the Panama flag.
However, the company is worried that each day in which the ship stays blocked in the port would cause serious financial losses.
There are other Bulgarian sailors are in the region of the Suez canal, sailing with a ship owned by the British Zodiac company, but they are currently not in danger.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian army, which has been witnessing the protests in the streets since last Friday, has started to engage in combat action against the suspecter provocateurs from the pro-Mubarak camp as it established a security cordon between the two opposing camps.
