Bulgaria's general government debt amounted to EUR 2.762 B (7.7% of the GDP) as of end November 2010, Bulgarian National Bank data released Tuesday shows.
It decreased by EUR 38.6 M compared to the end of 2009. Compared to end-November 2009 (EUR 2.792 B) the sector's debt decreased by EUR 30.1 M.
As of end-November 2010, Bulgaria's gross external debt1 was EUR 36.164 B (101.2% of GDP2), which is EUR 1.643 B less compared with the end of 2009 (EUR 37.8 B, 107.9% of GDP).
Compared to end-November 2009 (EUR 37.24 B), Bulgaria's gross external debt decreased by EUR 1.08 B.
Bulgarian banks' external debt was EUR 6.78 B (19% of GDP) end November 2010. It declined by EUR 1.59 B (19%) against the end of 2009. Compared to end-November 2009 (EUR 8.08 B) the sector's debt decreased by EUR 1.3 B.
As of end-November 2010 the stock of intercompany lending in Bulgaria was EUR 14.5 B, which was EUR 23.5 M (0.2%) more against the end of 2009. Compared to end-November 2009 (EUR 14,303 million) the sector's debt increased by EUR 192.6 million.
