The Bulgarian language must get once again understandable for all Bulgarians, according to ruling GERB party MP Emil Karanikolov.

As reported by Karanikolov, to that end the deputy will table a special legislative bill on "the purity of the Bulgarian language."

Karanikolov, an engineer by education, will develop the draft together with the co-chair of the GERB parliamentary group Krasimir Velchev, who is an engineer too.

The GERB MP motivated his ambition with the observation that current Bulgarian is not readily understandable by common folk, with those in power using ever more "words that are hardly capable of being digested by the regular Jill or Joe."
