Researchers from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) are meeting Monday with Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, and Education Minister, Sergey Ignatov.

The topic of discussion would be BAS' future.

At the end of last year BAS employees voiced deep discontent and staged several protest rallies over drastic cuts in their budget for 2011. They further oppose the new Bill, providing for BAS Institues to be opened and closed by the cabinet, under the proposal of the Education Minister, after coordination with the BAS President.

The Monday meeting comes under the initiative of Sergey Ignatov.
