Kaloyan Dimitrov, several-times Bulgarian youth boxing champion and competitor in the State boxing championship, has been thrashed in front of his house.
Dimitrov, 32, was attacked in the Danube city of Ruse with fists, kicks, and metal pipes.
Police believe the attack was organized by a young man from Ruse because the boxer kicked him out of a night club Friday evening over disorderly conduct. Dimitrov worked at the club as a security guard.
Doctors from the emergency room say the boxing champion has been admitted with numerous head wounds and unconscious. He has been listed in the hospital, and his current condition is serious, but stable.
