A 16-year-old Bulgarian girl, who was missing from her home in Italy, has been found by the police in the company of her 19-year-old Bulgarian boyfriend, "Il Quotidiano della Calabria" informed.

The Italian newspaper reported that the teenagers were seen by the Italian Border Police at the port in the city of Brindisi when they were ready to board the ferry to Greece.

The police were alarmed about the missing Bulgarian girl by her family, who was living in Taurionova, in the Italian region Calabria.

The boy has been charged with consented abduction and the girl has been temporarily accommodated with an Italian family.

The police believe that the ultimate destination of the couple was Bulgaria, where they were probably relying on being sheltered by relatives of the boy.
