3 Bulgarians Busted for Credit Card Fraud in Macedonia

Crime | January 3, 2011, Monday // 18:32

Three Bulgarian citizens have been arrested for committing credit card fraud in Skopje's capital Macedonia.

The three men were charged on Monday by the Macedonian directorate for combating organized crime, BGNES reported.

The three have been found to have withdrawn EUR 18 000 from two banks in Skopje with forged credit cards.

The Bulgarians started to commit the fraud in question in June 2010, and since then they carried out 111 "successful" transactions stealing money from ATMs of two Macedonian banks.

They also had 169 "unsuccessful" transactions that would have added another EUR 25 000 to the sum they pocketed.

The suspects have been arrested based on CCTV footage.
