The American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria has announced it will organize a Thanksgiving charity night on November 23 in Sofia.
The charity event will aim at supporting the sheltered home"Together" in the Bulgarian village of Gurmazovo, the center for social integration of children deprived of parental care and children from needy families "Agapedia," and SOS Youth Homes in the city of Veliko Tarnovo and Sofia.
The initiative also aims at providing 10 scholarships for orphans who are students or high school graduates.
The charity night will begin at 6 pm at the Central Military Club in Sofia. The US Ambassador to Bulgaria, James Warlick, and Dana Leff Niedzielska, Co-Chair of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), will present certificates to socially responsible companies.
The President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham), Anthony Hassiotis, the Executive Director, Valentin Georgiev, and the Executive Director of the Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation, Elitsa Barakova, will be present at the ceremony.
The funds for the beneficiaries will be collected during the official dinner through a lottery and through an open and secret bidding for different items, holiday offers and gifts, provided by the members of the chamber.
