Leading international manufacturers' logistics company GEFCO is to expand its presence in Central and Eastern Europe by opening an office in Bulgaria.
GEFCO Group announced its decision at a news conference in the Romanian capital Bucharest dedicated to the fifth year of its Bucharest office. GEFCO Bulgaria will open doors in December 2010 with an initial staff of seven employees.
By opening a branch in Bulgaria we are expanding our network and strengthening GEFCO's positioning as a leading in providing logistics services in Central and Eastern Europe. Some of GEFCO's key advantages are the quality of the services, the innovations and the international network," said Christian Zbylut, managing director of GEFCO for Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia.
"It is an honor and a challenge for us to become part of a team of professionals developing GEFCO's office in Bulgaria," declared in turn Aleksander Raczynski, managing director of GEFCO Bulgaria.
GEFCO is a leading company for logistics in car manufacturing, among the top ten in Europe. It has business operations in 150 countries. In the past year, it transported 2.5 million vehicles (50% by rail and sea) using a total of 1 800 logistical plans at 80 locations, with 4200 train cars, 3000 trucks, and 30 ships. It is among the top 10 logistics companies in Europe with a turnover of EUR 2.9 B in 2009. It has offices at 400 spots in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and a total of 9400 employees.
