Bulgarians Still Back PM, GERB Cabinet - Poll: Bulgarians Still Back PM, GERB Cabinet - Poll 60% of respondents in a recent poll of the National Center for Study of Public Opinion (NZIOM) say they would never support a political project of Bulgaria's President, Georgi Parvanov. Photo by BGNES

Despite growing criticism, a large majority of Bulgarians (71%) believe the cabinet of the Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party will serve its full term.

The data comes from a November 3 -10 poll of the National Center for Study of Public Opinion (NZIOM) .

This percentage has remained unchanged in the last 6 months.

Only 11% of the respondents see a possibility of early elections, mostly people over 50, living in small towns and villages, with low income, and supporters of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).

42% approve of the government – with 4.5% more compared to September. They are from the same social sectors as those believing the cabinet "Borisov" will remain in office until the end of term.

Those disapproving of GERB are 46% - again people over 50, living in small towns and villages, with low income, and supporters of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).

In November, 58% of Bulgarians approve the work of Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, 1% down compared to September while his disapproval is up 3%.

Approval for President, Georgi Parvanov, is up 1% to 43% while the disapproval is up 4% overall and 11% among those favoring GERB.

In the eve of the President's announcement of his new political project Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV), 25% of those polled say they are interested in it, while 60% say they would never support a project of Parvanov.

Approval for the Speaker of the Parliament, Tsetska Tsacheva, is up 1% to 31%.

The approval of the Parliament is 23%, up 1% from September; disapproval is 64% - up 5%.

Police are the most approved of institution – 54%.

The judicial system is loosing ground even further after the release from jail of several notorious, alleged, crime bosses in Bulgaria – from 62.5% to 69.4%.
