Popular Bulgarian actor Andrey Batashov is in a coma, according to the private Bulgarian private TV channel bTV.
Earlier on Wednesday, Batashov's family made an official announcement, saying that the actor has been hospitalized since Saturday and is in a very serious condition.
According to bTV, reports in the media that the actor suffered from insult was not true. The media reported that the actor was hospitalized on Saturday in a very serious condition after a very serious illness.
bTV has also informed that the actor's family, as well as the management of the hospital, had asked reporters not to disclose the reason for the coma.
Other Bulgarian media reported that Batashov was hospitalized for pneumonia and had damaged internal organs.
Besides actor, Batashov is also teaching in the Bulgarian National Academy for Theater and Film Arts. He is most popular for his one-person show "Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll," which he staged more than 500 times.
The actor was also an MP from the centrist National Movement for Stability and Prosperity (NDSV) in the previous government.
