The chair of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and ex-PM Sergey Stanishev had a working meeting with the ambassadors of EU member-states to Sofia Thursday.

The meeting was on the invitation of the ambassador of Belgium Marc Michielsen and included other senior representatives of the Bulgarian Socialists, who are the main opposition party at the moment.

Among the topics discussed were Bulgaria's fiscal policy, its prospects for economic development, the reform of the welfare system, as well as the fight with corruption and organized crime.

The parties also stressed on the usefulness of meetings in that format for the exchange of views on current topics of interest to all parties involved.

Two weeks ago American ambassador to Sofia James Warlick requested a meeting with Stanishev, after which he expressed satisfaction at the dialogue and assurance that a prosperous future lies in store for the BSP.
