Snap Elections Loom according to Bulgarian Socialist Party
Amidst escalating political turmoil in Bulgaria, the prospect of snap elections looms large, with Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Kornelia Ninova delivering scathing remarks on Tuesday
Bulgarian Minister of Interior Tsvetan Tsvetanov stated that accusations leveled against him for wrongful acquisition of properties are actually directed against security and stability in Bulgaria.
"I won't comment, I've everything declared," said Tsvetanov, after notorious RZS party leader Yane Yanev promised new revelations about the Minister of Interior tomorrow.
Earlier, Yanev alleged that Tsvetanov owns six properties, some of them in attractive Sofia neighborhoods, given that he has not any income declared apart from modest salaries as an official.
"In this attack I clearly see a political motivation," said Tsvetanov, stating that there are some who are interested in destabilizing the country, and who according to him are behind the accusations.
Some parliamentary groups - including that of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and that of right-wing Blue Coalitions - have demanded the creation of an ad hoc committee to investigate the affair, with Socialists asking Tsvetanov to temporarily step down until matters are cleared.
