"Everyone wants positions – in regulatory bodies and ministries," he emphasized.
The Sofia Court of Appeals released from jail Tuesday former undercover agent and controversial businessman, Aleksei Petrov, who was arrested in February in police operation Octopus.
Petrov, who spent almost nine months behind bars, will be placed under house arrest.
The magistrates reaffirmed the rule of the lower instance - the Sofia City Court that the organized group codenamed "Octopus" with Petrov as its alleged ringleader and 8 members never existed – a rule to which the Prosecutor in the case conceded earlier.
The Court says there was an organized group of only three people including Aleksei Petrov and two other people tried as accessories – Marchelo Dzholotov and Anton Petrov.
The magistrates further ruled there is no evidence the former undercover agent of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) is guilty of revealing classified information.
