ECB Sets Timeline for Digital Euro, Eyes 2029 Launch

Bulgaria must direct its efforts at reclaiming its positions on the Asian markets, stated President Georgi Parvanov, speaking at the eighth Asia-Europe meeting in Brussels.
ASEM, which includes the 27 EU member states and the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), began Monday in Brussels. It is viewed as a chance for the EU to tighten its connections to the Asian region.
Speaking Tuesday, the Bulgarian President stated that Europe and Asia are realizing the ever more pressing need to closely cooperate with each other in light of the global financial situation.
Parvanov said that Bulgaria must take up a pro-active position in Asia and come back to its positions, some of which it had lost over previous years.
He said he has had talks with Chinese PM Wen Jiabao on that matter and that one of the things he expressed interest in is the use of Bulgarian ports.
The Bulgarian President further stated that while there are some signs that the country is emerging from recession, the government should not be celebrate too early and concentrate on re-ordering its priorities.
