Milena Damyanova was named Tuesday Bulgaria's new Deputy Minister of Education, appointed with an order of Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov.
Damyanova replaces, Milka Kodzhabashieva, who lost her job on September 3 as a result of a scandal involving regulations with questionable ethnic self-determination provisions. Kodzhabashieva would still work at the Ministry as an expert.
Milena Damyanova has a Master's Degree in Hungarian Language and Literature from the University of Sofia and in Finances Management from the Economy Academy in the Danube town of Svishtov. She has specialized in Hungary and had worked as an international Hungarian language examiner at the Budapest University. Damyanova has also worked as a lecturer at the University of Sofia, and as a translator and interpreter. She is fluent in Hungarian, French, English, Russian and Chinese.
