A recent monstrous murder of a 3-month-old puppy in the Bogrov dog shelter near Sofia has generated an outrage in Bulgaria and among animal rights advocates and environmentalists from around the world. (Sofia News Agency) has received dozens of letters by Bulgarian and international readers expressing their indignation with barbarian act.

The skin of the three-year-old puppy Jessy was found by workers and volunteers in the Bogrov dog shelter near Sofia the morning of August 28.

Because of lack of funds, the shelter is not manned at night and has no guards. An unknown perpetrator is believed to have skinned the puppy on inside the dog shelter leaving behind only the skin.

The atrocious crime was committed the night before Jessy was supposed to be adopted by a Dutch family that was going to take her to the Netherlands.

The Bulgarian police authorities have been alerted about the case; the Animal Rescue Sofia and The Four Paws Foundation are offering an award of BGN 1 000 for any information about the perpetrator and to anybody who is ready to witness before the police and courts.

The animal rights activities have called for an urgent amendment of the Bulgarian legislation referring to cruelty against animals because under the current laws if found guilty, the person who skinned the little puppy would get a BGN 500 fine as a maximum punishment.

The Bulgarian and international activists have been outraged by the arrogance of the crime committed demonstratively on the territory of the dog shelter.

Volunteers of the Animal Rescue Sofia have started to take shifts as night guards at the Bogrov shelter since the night of the incident.

They have called for a public effort in Bulgaria to punish the murderer of the puppy, and for a campaign to raise awareness in the Bulgarian society about cruelty against animals.

Spokesman Svetoslav Petrov from ARS said that there were no traces of blood on the premises so they believe Puppy Jessy was taken off premises and her skin and head brought back. He added that a man nicknamed "Chin Lee" has sent a note to ARS describing to them how it was done to "keep the meat tasty and tender".

The animal rights activists believe Jessy's murder was not an act done in the heat of the moment. It was a pre-meditated act of violence designed to send a"message" to Animal Rescuers across Bulgaria who are currently seeking to persuade the Bulgarian government to criminalize animal cruelty.

The Dutch family that was supposed to adopt Jessy adopted one of her sisters. However, readers of (Sofia News Agency) have alerted us Jessy's sister died on the plane en route to the Netherlands. Her adopters believe that she had been given a poison with delayed effects. The causes of the death of the second puppy are examined by veterinarians.

The tragedy of the puppy has led to the creation of a Facebook group entitled "Justice for Jessy the pup from Bogrov" which already has about 500 members.

A website dedicated to Jessy's murder containing an image of the skin that was in the shelter is available HERE. Before clicking the link, please consider our warning that the image is disturbing.

The incident with the puppy comes about two months after Bulgaria was shocked by another crime against an animal in the town of Dryanovo where a dog was found alive with its four legs cut off.

The Bulgarian capital Sofia has been struggling for years with the problem of stray dogs which are estimated to number thousands.

"The idiots who burn the Holy Qur'an must understand that they put the American soldiers in Harms Way."

You sound just like Hillary Clinton! You are SUCH a pusssy! The Islamists already hate America and Americans, it is time to show them how Americans feel about them and their screwball cult. In Afghanistan there is a price on American heads. I believe it is $6,000 or so. Cheap. Now we are collecting Korans to burn on Saturday. lol

"I'll even dress up as an admiral "

That's a really good one that got me ROFLMAO

DrFaust. - 8 Sep 2010 // 18:04:14

Come on Bill, you will love it - I'll even dress up as an admiral (minus the pants & underwear) and you can polish my porthole ;-)

Bill - 8 Sep 2010 // 15:09:51

Or Chushki. Doesn't matter which. Both have sex obsessions and seem to think that it's fun to push others with them.

Bill - 8 Sep 2010 // 15:05:15

OK, so we've got Pantudi back with another nick, spouting his usual Tourette's Syndrome crap.

''Sorry to disappoint you, but I'll decline the invitation.''

Dont knock it until you've tried it - I could make you a very obedient puppy. Kiss!

Bill - 8 Sep 2010 // 11:19:38

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'll decline the invitation.

DrFaust. - 8 Sep 2010 // 10:52:58

I'm not frigid Bill, on the contrary I'm a promiscuous practicising homosexual. Kiss!

DrFaust - 8 Sep 2010 // 10:52:11

DrFaust. (with a dot),

you are just a dot in cyberspace, nobody cares about you.

And now: PISS OFF!

DrFaust. - 8 Sep 2010 // 10:47:02

I am dangerously GAY and proud of it!

Bill - 8 Sep 2010 // 10:39:19

"You've been calling people bitches and frigid..."

Another twisted opinion. I haven't called "people" frigid; only you. You're the only one here who deserves it.

Bill - 8 Sep 2010 // 10:36:43

Come off it, pooposie! Enough of your phony wisdom.

"Women ask for it" indeed! Another of your twisted interpretations. I have never said that women "ask" for it; merely that their actions may be a causal factor, albeit an unwanted one.

WickedWitch - 8 Sep 2010 // 10:09:14

Oh, please, Mr. Racist and Mr "Women are asking for it"

You've been calling people bitches and frigid and prostitutes for way way longer than they've called you pond scum. You admitted it yourself. When someone gets you mad, anyone, you get diarrhea of the mouth and spray anyone at all without any discrimination. Especially when Nellie's goading you on.

Bill - 8 Sep 2010 // 09:54:33

"Bill, PLEASE do yourself a favor and subscribe to anti virus, anti spam and anti spyware protection. It sounds like you are being attacked by viruses, worms, trojan horses, bugs, and everything else that is imaginable and un-imaginable. There is more stuff out there and there is probably more stuff on your computer."

So far as I know, there are two anti-virus programs installed, but my youngest "guru'" says I don't know enough to be able to handle them. All I know is that I can't call them up. I think he did that deliberately. I have the usual anti-virus which comes with the Windows program for sure; I think I saw Lavasoft somewhere, but can't find it. I also had Spybot on my older computer, which seemed to be pretty good.l

Beyond that, I really don't know what to do.

As to "no holds barred", I've taken a lot of shit from WW, but being called "pond scum" was more than I'm prepared to take from her. I've done a great deal of tongue-biting with her and her sarcasm and delusions of superiority, but that one went too far. I've run into a lot of snotty, snippy bitches (and men, too) in my time, but so far no one equals her!
