The four antique objects discovered by Bulgarian Customs agents during a probe Saturday have proven authentic, the Customs Agency informs Monday.

The probe took place at the border check point Kalotina between Bulgaria and Serbia.

Bulgarian archeology experts established over the weekend some of the objects date from the 3rd - 2nd century BC while the others are from the 1st century AC.

The Customs agents on duty found the four antiques hidden in the luggage of people traveling from Turkey to Germany. They were wrapped in paper napkins and placed at the bottom of a suitcase, whose owner said these were gifts for his relatives.

So far, Bulgarian museums and private collectors have not reported any objects missing. Experts are to conduct further research to date the finds more precisely.
