Bulgaria’s President, Georgi Parvanov, congratulated Saturday the team of Bulgarian students and coaches for their outstanding results in the 22nd International Informatics Olympiad held in Canada.
In a special letter, the President voices his joy and pride from the fact the country’s young prodigies won two gold, one silver and one bronze medals.
The gold went to Rumen Hristov, student at the High School for Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the city of Shumen. In the letter, Parvanov reminds Hristov is a two-time winner of the prestigious “John Atanasoff” student award.
The other gold medal went to Vladislav Haralampiev from the Sofia Mathematics High School. Anton Atanasov from the High School for Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the city of Haskovo won the silver, while Mihail Kovachev from the same Shumen High School grabbed the bronze.
