The Bulgarian captain of Aston Villa Stilyan Petrov scored a goal for his team in the first round of the English Premiership.
Midfielder Petrov scored the second goal for Villa's 3:0 victory against hosts West Ham. His goal came in the 40th minute.
Steward Downing opened the score for Villa in the 15th minute, and James Milner added the third goal in the 66th.
Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov also played for his English team Bolton in the scoreless draw against Fulham but was substituted in the 86th minute.
