Romania's Export Grows by 26% in 2010 H1

Romanian export increased by 25.8% in the first half of 2010 year-on-year reaching EUR 17.1 B, according to data of Romania’s National Institute of Statistics.
It amounted to EUR 13.6 B in January-June 2009. The country’s import went up by 19.3% reaching EUR 21.8 B, up from EUR 18.3 B in the same period of 2009.
Thus, Romania’s trade deficit increased slightly from EUR 4.68 B in the first half of 2009 to EUR 4.7 B in the same period of 2010.
In June alone, Romania export goods and services for EUR 3.3 B, an increase of 29% compared with June 2009. Its June 2010 import grew by 26.5% reaching EUR 4.2 B; the monthly trade deficit in June was EUR 890 M, up from EUR 756 M in the same month of 2009.
