The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, thanked Monday his Bulgarian counterpart, Boyko Borisov, for the timely help in extinguishing wildfires ravaging Moscow suburbs for days now.
Putin took the initiative on Monday to make a phone call to Borisov in offering highest marks for the professionalism and the dedication of the 92 Bulgarian fire fighters and the 3 doctors taking part in the international rescue operations.
“Bulgaria extended great help to us; this is a superior moral gesture,” the Russian PM said.
Borisov, on his part, offered Bulgaria to accept for rehabilitation children and firemen who have been hurt by the blaze.
Bulgaria’s EU Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, Kristalina Georgieva, had been present during the conversation and had informed Putin of the measures the European Commission is undertaking to help Russia.
