Bulgarian Wins European Kayaking Gold

Bulgaria: Bulgarian Wins European Kayaking Gold Teenager Kristian Dushev won a fourth place in single kayak Friday and has chances for a medal in 200 m Saturday.

Bulgarian Miroslav Kirchev won the gold medal in 500 m kayak single at the European canoe and kayak racing championship in Moscow, Russia.

In the age group up to 18, Kristian Dushev ranked fourth, for 500 m kayak single too. Over the weekend, Krichev might score another medal, this time for 1000 m single kayak, while Kirchev might top the 200 m single kayak.

In Moscow Bulgaria scored an number of other top ten placings. The Bulgarian Canoe Federation stated that this is the country's best performance in recent years.
