The report of the European Commission on Bulgaria, published Tuesday, stresses for the very first time violations in over 60% of the public tenders, the leader of the centrist party National Movement for Stability and Prosperity (NMSP), Hristina Hristova, points out.
Hristova, who took over the party, founded by former Tsar and Prime Minister, Simeon Saxe-Coburg, after the latter resigned last summer in the aftermath of the July general elections, says these violations exists in 100% of the large-scale infrastructure projects, as noted by the report.
The NMSP leader further pointed out the report on Bulgaria's progress in justice and home affairs through the so-called Co-operation and Verification Mechanism (CVM), also for the first time talks about the need to reform the police, but admitted it is more positive than the last one.
Hristova, who is also a former Social Policy and Labor Minister, explained Bulgaria lacks a true retirement system while the demographic crisis and low average life expectancy are a real problem for the country.
NMSP defines the first year of the rule of the center-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) party as a rule of the “trial and error, of wandering and chaotic movement.”
Hristova was particularly critical about the lack of an anti-crisis measures package, the failure of the State to pay businesses, and to conduct an administrative reform.
