The President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy will visit Slovenia on Monday before starting a short tour of the Balkans, which will include stops in Zagreb, Belgrade and Pristina.

The situation in the region will be in the centre of his meeting with Prime Minister Borut Pahor.

Rompuy was planned to visit the Western Balkans in May, but the visit, whose aim was to assure all regional countries of their European prospects, was postponed.
