Germany's national football team soundly defeated Argentina 4:0 in the third quarter final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The Argentinians led by Messi failed to live up to the expectations for them in a game that was dominated by the dynamic Germans.

The first goal was scored by Mueller in the 3rd minute, and the score remained till the half time as the Argentinians tried to make a comeback.

The second half, however, was even more in favor of the Germans with two goals by Miroslav Klose – in the 68th and 89th minute, and Friedrich in the 74th.

In the semi final, Germany will face the winner of Saturday's late night match, the last quarter final, between Spain and Paraguay.
