Bulgarian commandos carried out a special police operation against drug dealers in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
The police is reported to have arrested five people over drug distribution charges.
Raids were carried out late Wednesday in the “Lagera” and “Malinova dolina” Sofia residential areas. 900 grams of marijuana and 1 kg of amphetamines have been discovered during the police sweeps.
More raids are currently going on in the a number of other residential areas in the capital Sofia as well as in villages near the town of Svoge (33 km away from Sofia).
Bulgaria's Interior Minister Tsevtan Tsvetanov is expected to give more information about the operation on Thursday.
