Bulgaria: Skype Launches Group Video Chat Service

Skype is going to unveil its new video chat and subscription services on May 10.

The new feature will allow network groups of people to make video phone calls. The service will start as a free trial of an upgrade to its PC-based calling software.

Up to five people will be able to join a video conference call from different locations simultaneously with the new service, which will be free at the beginning but Skype will begin charging for it in the summer of 2010.

Skype boasts some 560 million users worldwide. The company plans to developments to allow the use of the service on cellphones and the ability to make free Skype calls on iPhones using the 3G service.
