There is information that the Somali pirates have taken the kidnapped ship Asian Glory to sea again, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry said.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vesela Cherneva announced that his showed that the Bulgarian capitain of the vessel, which was hijacked on January 2, 2010, is alive.

‘We can’t say that the negotiations with the Somali pirates have dragged on too long because there are cases of negotiations for more than six months,” Cherneva told the BNR.

She confirmed that the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry is constantly in touch with the UK company Zodiac, which operates the Asian Glory ship.

A total of 8 Bulgarian sailors were on board of Asian Glory. Five more Bulgarians who were on the St. James Park tanker are also in Somali captivity.
