The number of unemployed in Bulgaria is down by over 4 000 people in March, according to data of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.

This trend is registered for the first time since December 2008, the Ministry points out.

According to Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, the data shows the economy is beginning to recover.

By March 31, 2010 the unemployment rate is 10.1% compared to 10.3% in February. 375 000 are currently registered with the Labor Bureaus.

Among regions unemployment is down the most in the Region of the Black Sea city of Varna and the least in the Haskovo Region.
