Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has once again selected Dimitar Glavchev as the candidate for acting prime minister
Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office is being misled about alleged violations of the former government, the leadership of the Socialist Party (BSP) declared.
Former Prime Minister and BSP leader, Sergey Stanishev, gave a news conference Tuesday countering the accusations made by his successor Boyko Borisov that the former cabinet signed contracts with private companies for BGN 2,16 B for which it knew the state had no money.
On Monday, Borisov referred the contracts in question to the Prosecutor’s Office.
“After we left behind a fiscal reserve of BGN 8,2 B, and even returned ahead of schedule Bulgarian state debt amounting to BGN 2 B, why is the current fiscal reserve below BGN 6 B? Where are the other BGN 2 B which have disappeared during the eight months of the GERB government?” Stanishev asked demanding that a public debate be held between him and the Prime Minister over the accusations in question.
During his statement Stanishev mistakenly called Borisov “the former Prime Minister”; as he corrected himself, he said that Borisov might soon really become a former Prime Minister because of the way he handles state policies.
