Head of the European Commission Representation in Sofia, Zinaida Zlatanova, has said that the Bulgaria appears to have started to adhere strictly to the procedures of the programs for EU funding.
Zlatanova commented on the fact that the EC approved Bulgaria’s compliance assessments under all seven operational programs of the EU thus giving a green late to the absorption of some EUR 6,5 B by 2013.
“There has never been any political element in this process, and there can never be,” Zlatanova told the BNR making it clear that political considerations could not have influenced Brussels officials to approve Bulgaria’s compliance assessments.
