Yane Yanev to Advise Bulgaria’s PM Borisov on Fight against Corruption
Yane Yanev, leader of the marginal conservative Order Law and Justice (RZS) party, has been appointed advisor at the Council of Ministers.
Bulgaria's conservative Order, Law and Justice (RZS) party’ leader, Yane Yanev, stated Friday that his party is not linked in any way to Anton Petrov, aka The Hamster.
Yanev, speaking in an interview on BNT, said that any allegations that RZS was funded by Petrov were false and he added that he didn’t even know him. Yanev continued that the allegations were from the “sick fantasies” of the rightist DSB MP Atanas Atanasov.
“This is another portion of nonsense, that we are affiliated with criminal groups, because RZS is a project of the Bulgarian citizens,” Yanev announced.
Anton Petrov, aka The Hamster, who is presumed to have been “The Impudent” ringleader, was detained through the special police operation “Octopus,” and is believed to be the link between the two criminal organizations.
The Hamster was arrested in December during “The Impudent” operation against the high profile kidnapping gang. He was later released on bail over lack of evidence.
