Trump released on bond from Fulton County jail
Former US President Donald Trump has been released on bond after completing the booking process at the Fulton County jail in Atlanta
Alleged top criminal boss Krasimir Marinov, aka The Big Marguin, has been sent back to jail after the Sofia Appellate Court ruled that he should be refused bail.
The ruling came after a four-hour hearing behind closed doors in which Bulgaria Prosecutors submitted two volumes of new evidence in the case against Marinov. Fellow defendant Milen Aleksiev was also ordered to be re-detained. Another defendant Stefan Bonev, aka Sako, will also remain behind bars.
It was also announced Thursday that all the anonymous witnesses the trial have now been heard by a judge.
Marinov’s lawyer, Trendafil Trendafilov, stated “I do not understand why my client was re-arrested," after the appeal case. Bonev’s lawyer, Marin Markovski, was more outspoken as he slammed the decision; “This court order is completely against the law.” He added that the data presented by prosecutors is vague, incomplete and without specific dates and facts.
Meanwhile, Sofia City Prosecutor, Nikolay Kokinov, praised the "correct" judgement of the court and stated that both last Sunday and today the Prosecution had presented enough evidence against Krasimir Marinov to keep him in jail.
Marinov was released on bail last Sunday by Sofia City Court after charges were raised against him for being the boss of an organized crime group involved with the distribution of drugs.
This was the second significant charge against Krasimir Marinov in several days which was not upheld by the court: Marinov has been charged with plotting the murder of controversial journalist Bobi Tsankov, who was shot dead in Sofia on January 5, 2010, but the court rejected the demand of the prosecutors that he be left behind bars.
Krasimir’s brother Nikolay aka The Little Marguin is still being searched for by police in connection with both cases but Kokinov concluded that there is no evidence that he was is involved in either case. Kokinov added that prosecutors need to question Nikolay to see if he is involved.
