The Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and Sofia Metropolitan Maxim conducted the Christma mass in Sofia Friday morning.

The Patriarch blessed Bulgarians all over the world during the service at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

In a Christmas message to all Bulgarians, read by Archimandrite Naum, Secretary of the Holy Synod, Maxim said that each time, on the threshold between the old and the new year, the birth of Jesus Christ brings joy in our hearts and warmth in our homes.

“God is here, among us, and he is reborn again to bring his peace and love to our world,” the message states.
